Eastern Beaches Foreshore Management Plan public consultation coming soon

Hello Bushcarers and other subscribers,

The Foreshore Management Plan will be available for public comment on the Noosa Council Website on the Your Say page very soon. It’s been a long time coming. Noosa’s Beaches are loved, enjoyed and visited by many in the region The Council undertook extensive consultation with the many and varied stakeholders and groups (including the MBBA) in what was a very thorough process.

I know some bushcarers and members of our community, feel a degree of frustration about how long things take. So for those of you interested in the process, here’s a bit of background.

Once the Coastal Management Plan was in the final draft, it went to the Councillors for approval and/or amendment. Colin and I attended the General Committee Meeting on November 14 where council staff presented the Draft and answered Councillor’s questions. See the post which outlines the amendment proposed by Councillor Stockwell here :

The MBBA will be doing a submission. If you have any ideas or suggestions as to how we can look after our dunes, while providing access for everyone who wants to visit and enjoy the eastern beaches, please contact us at info@mbba.org.au Or better still, have your say through the council’s website.

We’ll keep you posted
