Marcus Beach Bushcare – A Call to Our Community

Our local coastal environment is something special—and it stays that way because of people like you.

huge thank you to everyone who already volunteers with, donates to, or supports Marcus Beach Bushcare. Your time, energy and care are making a real difference. But to truly protect our foreshore, we need the whole community behind us.

Our Bushcare program works along the dunes and foreshore from Beach Access 43-49, focusing on removing invasive weeds and giving our native environment the space it needs to thrive. By tackling weeds such as Singapore Daisy, Asparagus Fern, Gloriosa Lily, Mile-a-Minute and Gidgy Gidgy Vine, we’re helping native plants recover, strengthening dune systems, and building long-term resilience along our coastline.

This work is vital. Healthy dunes protect our beach, support wildlife, and safeguard the ecosystem we all enjoy—now and into the future.

How you can be involved

There’s a place for everyone:

  • Join us as a regular volunteer (see the website for the regular days and times)
  •  Lend a hand as a one-off helper
  • Get involved in specific projects or working bees
  • Support us financially by donating your cans and bottles through Containers for Change
    Scheme number: C10606139

No experience is needed—just a willingness to help and care for this incredible place. Contact us at info@mbba.org.au if you are interested or would like more information.

Together, we can protect and restore our natural environment, and ensure this coastline remains healthy and resilient for generations to come.

Everyone is welcome. Your beach needs you.

  1. hello, I saw an article in the Noosa Today local newspaper which said “meet the volunteers at Beach Access 47 car park, Tristania Drive, Marcus Beach on Saturday, May 23 9 AM. I couldn’t see any “Beach access 47” sign. I walked down to the beach but could see no one. I drove along Tristani drive for ways and could see no one. Sorry that I couldn’t find a group of volunteers. There were no banners or indicators.

    • Dear Nance – We are sorry you couldn’t find us last Saturday. We had a marquee and banner up on the grass near the carpark at Tasman Trespasser Park. The beach access is in the carpark Happy to answer any of your questions. PLease feel free to send through any queries to info@mbba.org.au. Kind regards from the BushCare volunteers
