Community Support at the Noosa Coast Care Open Day

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us at the Noosa Coast Care Open Day at Beach Access 47 on 23 May 2026. Despite the windy and overcast weather, it was wonderful to see so many community members come along to chat with our volunteers and learn more about the work being undertaken by the Marcus Beach Bushcare Association.

Visitors had the opportunity to hear about our Dune Restoration Project and the ongoing efforts to protect and restore the fragile coastal environment along Marcus Beach. There was also plenty of interest in the powerful “asparagus assassin” — a frontline tool to one of the most invasive environmental weeds in our region.

Of course, the sizzling barbecue may also have helped attract a crowd, with the aroma of onions and sausages drifting across the park throughout the morning!

The day provided a great opportunity for people to meet our volunteers, ask questions about local conservation projects and learn how community action can make a real difference in protecting our coastal ecosystems. We were also delighted to give away a range of local native plants, which will hopefully see even more native species flourishing in local gardens.

A special thank you to Noosa Council Bushcare for their ongoing support and assistance with the event.

If you are interested in volunteering — whether regularly or from time to time — or would simply like to learn more about our activities, we would love to hear from you.
