Some opportunities for bushcarers

Hello MBBA members and supporters,

Michael Lyons, Noosa Council Natural Areas Project Officer has notified us of two events that you may be interested in:

Flying Fox workshop

Subtitled “furry little eco workers”, this session will be presented by Martin Fingland from Geckoes Wildlife next Thursday (14th) from 4-6pm at Noosa Leisure Centre Conference Room. There were still spots available for bushcarers last week. You’ll need to contact Michael (see below) to see if they are still available.

Nest Box Monitoring program

Noosa Council’s Parks & Natural Areas team are considering resurrecting the Sunshine Coast Council’s Nest Box Monitoring program. Michael is seeking expressions of interest from Bushland Care members who would like to contribute/assist with this project. Whether it be sharing knowledge of locations, nest box design or assisting be monitoring your input would be valued.

If you are interested in either of these, Michael’s contact details are:

Last week was a busy local Bushcare week, with working bees at all three of our sites, and another to follow this weekend at Peregian Creek. The photo shows some of the workers at Marcus foreshore last Saturday, with our new Noosa Council co-ordinator, Chelsea, on the left.
