Peregian Creek Weeding

This coming Saturday, 1st April, we shall meet again down along BA49 from 07:30. The target weeds will be Singapore Daisy down between the creek and the boardwalk plus flowers and fruiting bodies from Glory Lily and some Asparagus Fern.

Landcare were down on the foredune at BA48 this morning and when I left good progress had been made in removing or clipping the dense cover of Asparagus Fern to the shore side of the area planted in December 2021. The seedlings planted are doing well there with Acacia flavescens up to nearly 2 metres high, while there is reasonable survival among the seedlings planted in December last year with a majority now seeming to have become hardened to the drier conditions with occasional falls of rain.

See you on Saturday.
