Peregian Creek Weeding

This week, on Saturday 15th February at 7 am, we are going to venture into new territory. Weeding will be on BA48, at the southern end of Tristania Drive. The Asparagus Fern and Broad-Leaf Pepper between BA48 and Peregian Creek is thick throughout, though I thought we would start operations near the beach in the foredune area. It looks disheartening, but, we shall work away at both these weeds and any others we find, probably using clippers to mainly clear the Asparagus branches and berries, with crowning being of secondary consideration at this point.

Landcare contractors did a great job on removing much of remaining Singapore Daisy around the black plastic in the creek, which now has water flowing over the top of it. They also cleaned up the rest of the Para Grass near the boardwalk and dealt with a few Broad-Leaf Peppers new the creek.

Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
