Members of the MBBA will be pleased to know that our organisation has succeeded in attracting its first grant funds, from the Community Project Grant program of the Noosa Council. Our project, entitled Establishing Interpretative Walks at Peregian Creek and Marcus Beach, consists of designing and erecting a series of signs along the beach access pathways at each of those locations. There will be twelve small signs identifying plant species at each site, and up to six larger signs giving more information (see the example from Noosa National Park.)
The funding for the project is modest – it will cover some of the materials, but most of the work will be carried out by our volunteers.
We’ll be letting you know about working bees to put the project into operation later in the year. Meanwhile, there will be a need to have some good line art done for the large signs. If any members/supporters have graphic design skills they would like to volunteer, we’d love to hear from you. Contact Graham on 5448 1553.
