Save the Date: Coastal Urban Wildlife Garden Workshop Sat, May 17

Noosa Council, in partnership with NICA, is hosting a free coastal Urban Wildlife Garden workshop for coastal foreshore neighborhoods event and we would love for you to join us!

When and Where:

Come along to Victory Park in Peregian Beach on Saturday 17 May to learn how to attract wildlife to your coastal garden from the NICA Urban Wildlife Gardens experts.

In Noosa we’re lucky to live in a very special community known for protecting our natural environment and recognised the world over as a UN Biosphere Reserve. Using local plants and creating wildlife habitat in your urban coastal garden can bring it alive with native birds and butterflies and make a vital contribution to Noosa’s precious environment.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Learn about local plants: See examples of native plants that work well in a coastal urban garden and help feed and shelter wildlife through-out the year.
  • Meet your neighbours: Learn about the animals that live in and near coastal foreshore bushland and dunes.
  • Garden design: Talk to experts about creating beautiful, diverse coastal gardens that shelter and support our wildlife.
  • Water for wildlife: Incorporate water features into your garden, locating and planting around them to provide safe, reliable water to your wildlife visitors.
  • Replace weeds with natives: Get that pesky weed identified, and some suggestions about how to control it and local plants to replace it.
  • Free resources: Grab a NICA wildlife gardening guide and coastal native plant and weed guide.
  • Free plants: Top the day off by grabbing a couple of native garden plants to start you your urban wildlife journey
