The long awaited ENCROACHMENTS POLICY AND ORGANISATIONAL PROCEDURES will be considered at the NOOSA COUNCIL GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING, June 12.
This document provides a whole of Shire approach to how Council defines and manages illegal use and encroachments on public land that Noosa Council is responsible for. It does not change the Local Laws in relation to this but does provide additional funding for enforcement of the laws.
I anticipate that this policy will be passed by Councillors after the presentation on Monday. The real test will be in how serious the council is about looking after our precious public spaces, be they parks, nature reserves or verges.
You can live stream the debate on the Noosa Council TV YouTube Channel tomorrow.
