Landcare Australia Bushfire Recovery Community Planting Day – Peregian Beach

Hi all

I just wanted to let you know about an upcoming community planting at Peregian Beach, hosted by Noosa and District Landcare:

When: Saturday 19 February,  8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Location: Hurst Oval, Peregian Beach

Registration is essential- please see details in flyer and description below.

Cheers, Sarah.

Come along for a morning of planting to help restore bushland areas along Noosa National Park and adjoining Noosa Council reserve that were damaged in the bush fires of 2019.

We will be planting native shrubs and trees along the edge of the Noosa National Park and the adjoining Noosa Council Reserve near Di Hurst Oval at Peregian Beach. This site was severely burnt during the bushfire and has since been dominated by exotic grasses. This planting will help improve native plant diversity on the site and kick-start the regeneration to a more healthy state.

Wear enclosed shoes and longsleeved clothing. Bring hat, sunscreen and water.

Park in car park on Rufous Street near the oval. Look out for the Landcare marquee and flag for planting location.

These works have been supported by the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery Program for wildlife and their habit
